Entry 04 · Escalation

Only generic replies? Put them on a clock.

“Your account is under review” is not an answer. Enter the day the processor received your formal complaint. We work out when their final response is due, when to chase, and when you can go to the ombudsman or regulator. Nothing leaves this browser.

Referral pack preview

The planned Escalation pack turns your timeline, letters, replies and evidence into one referral bundle for the ombudsman or regulator: a dated summary, an indexed exhibit list and a follow-up for each stage.

Preview shortened. The full pack is part of Pro, which is not on sale yet.

Sources: UK FCA DISP 1.6 (15 business days for payment-services and e-money complaints, 35 after a holding reply, 8 weeks otherwise); Financial Ombudsman Service; England & Wales bank holidays. Ireland and EU: Payment Services Directive, Article 101; FSPO; Irish public holidays. US: PayPal User Agreement (Notice of Dispute, 60 days). Wise: its complaints page commits to 15 calendar days in the UK (35 if it extends), so the UK timeline counts calendar days for Wise; in the EEA it names Ombudsfin. Checked 24 Oct 2026.

Business days are counted Monday to Friday, skipping public holidays where listed. Some firms count every day they are open, which can make a deadline earlier: check the date in their acknowledgement. This is self-help information, not legal advice.
